Extensible Remote Instrument Control-ERIC

The MCCD program that controls the CCD and telescope is based on the ERIC package, written by Michael Ashley in 1993-95. This software is also used to control the IRPS at the South Pole, the UNSWIRF fabry-perot on the AAT, and will be used for the radio telescope at UNSW. It is described in Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia, Volume 13, 17-21, 1996.

ERIC provides lots of useful general-purpose instrument-control commands, as well as allowing for complete control via any UNIX host on the Internet.
